“Ministry at a Time of Migration  – I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was in prison and you visited me.” (Matthew 25: 35,36)

Rev. John Gutterman, UCC Clergy and Lead, Conversations with Friends (CWF)

Speaker Host: Pastor Howard

Soup Host: Deacons/Barb Green

Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR) has been a priority of Presidents G. W. Bush and Barak Obama, as well as business, labor, and interfaith coalitions, but Congress has failed to act positively in 16 years.  Without their action immigrant enforcement and incarceration is the default reform Congress has created.  Come to discuss the latest status of CIR, the civil detention of immigrants, and the CWF program. Rev. Gutterman will also speak about the Syrian and Central American refugee crisis, as well as outline opportunities for all of us to work ecumenically in interfaith ways to create a more welcoming Minnesota.
